2017 Solar Eclipse - August 21st

• La Crosse Peak Time: 1:11 PM
• Eau Claire Peak Time: 1:09 PM

NASA is gearing up for the solar eclipse coming up on August 21st. Only some parts of the U.S. will see the full eclipse, while the rest of the country will see a partial. While people are getting ready and planning where to watch, many for the first time in their lives.

Here are a few incredible facts about this one.

It's the first total solar eclipse in the lower forty-eight states in thirty-eight years. The last one in 1979. Not only that, it's the first coast-to-coast solar eclipse in ninety-nine years. And it's the first one exclusively visible in the U.S. since 1776 before the U.S. won independence.
