When the fifth-grade class at Bloomer Middle School returned from spring break earlier this week, students welcomed back a special classmate.
11-year-old Carson Zwiefelhofer hasn't been in school since the end of January because he's battling a rare form of cancer. However, Carson is determined to beat the disease, and he's inspiring others with his positive mindset.
"We have to look at him and not take to heart what they're telling me. When you look at him I don't feel that. He doesn't radiate it at all," said Cindy Zwiefelhofer, Carson’s mom.
A benefit has been set up for Carson to help support his family. The benefit is Saturday April 7 at the Bloomer Moose Lodge from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
