Join us each night this week for stories on the area and then tune in Saturday, May 20th, at 5:30 PM for a 30 minute special on all the county has to offer. Fox 25/48's Erin O'Brien explores some of the great places to dine around the county.

There are a lot of great places to enjoy food and drinks here in Trempealeau County and I got to go behind-the-scenes to see how some of it's made, including here in Osseo at the Northwoods Brew Pub.

Northwoods Brew Pub in Osseo

Co-owners Sean Annis and Jerry Bechard have been in business for 20 years, most of them in Eau Claire. But two years ago they moved their business to Osseo and they say they love their new home in Trempealeau County.

"We got an amazing building, we have a cool service set up, we have a beautiful outdoor patio. Our menu kind of fits for everyone, the beers are the same, we have something for everyone's palette."

They brew about 25 kinds of ales and lagers.

"Of course we have our flagships. Floppin' Crappie and Walters; ones we brew a lot of."

The Norske Nook in Osseo

Just down the road from the brew pup you'll find another restaurant owned by Jerry Bechard, The Norske Nook, most famous for their pies

"We've expanded the line of pies since since 1990. We only had probably 12 then and we have over 50 now. People love them. People come from around the world for them. We get orders from all over the world for the pies."

i didn't just take his word for it. I had to try for myself and they are delicious.

Elmaro Vineyard in Trempealeau

On the other end of the county, the Elmaro Vineyard in Trempealeau offers much more than just wine.

"We have all sorts of activities for people. We do yoga, dance, moonlight hikes, winery Wednesdays. We have different kinds of packages for tasting like a picnic package where people grab a picnic basket and we put them in a specific spot in the vineyard. Many, many things."

Elmaro has been recognized for their winemaking around the county, including here at home,  winning the title of "Winery Of The Year" from the Wisconsin Grape Growers Association.

"Winery Of The Year comes probably once in a lifetime for a winery."

The owners credit their success to one thing.

"We believe everything happens because of these grapes. That's what makes good wine. Great grapes. And so we're really proud of our growers."

From beer, to pies, to wine, you're sure to leave Trempealeau County with a happy and full stomach.
