Scott Walker Signs Bill 798 Into Law

Governor Scott Walker signed a tax cut bill in western Wisconsin Tuesday giving families $100 dollars for each child.
Walker signed Bill 798 at Mills Fleet farm in Menomonie.

The bill provides a tax refund to families for children who were under 18 for all of 2017.

The measure also provides a tax-free week from August 1 to August 5 for certain back-to-school items within a price range.

Walker said he believes the new law will also have a positive impact on the next year's budget.
“When families, parents, grandparents, and other family members have that $100 per child, plus sales tax holiday in state we believe overwhelming go out on stores like this and going to buy things for schools,” said Walker.

Walker said families will be able to sign up for the child tax rebate starting on May 15.
