Poppet is a 7-month-old, spayed female, Australian Cattle Dog who is current on vaccinations.
Poppet is a beautiful girl who is full of endless energy and snuggles! She is hoping to land herself a family who has experience with active herding breeds.
She came to the shelter as a stray so we are unsure of her past or if she is house trained. She does have accidents here at the shelter if not let out frequently. She will need a consistent routine in her new home and we highly suggest utilizing a crate for when she cannot be supervised.
She loves to play with other dogs and would love a canine companion in her new home. She has met some cats and was curious but respectful. We are unsure if she has met children before but she loves everyone she meets here at the shelter. We recommend a home with slightly older respectful children (7 years+) who can help participate in her training.
Poppet has so much potential to be the most loving companion. She is apt to be on her best behavior once she has had enough physical and mental exercise. She would make a wonderful running buddy and would likely enjoy and excel in dog sports such as agility, fly-ball, or frisbee! She is a very clingy and affectionate girl who will drape herself across her people in search of snuggles and belly rubs! She can melt a heart in seconds! Poppet is required to go through puppy training to ensure she gets off on the right foot, a $100 training deposit will be required.
