Eau Claire County has seen its highest three day surge in positive COVID-19 cases since the global pandemic began.
Ten new cases announced on Monday brings the county’s total to 218. Saturday and Sunday each saw 14 new cases reported, which means there has been 38 new cases in the last three days.
City-County Health Director, Lieske Giese says she expects to see the number of cases to continue to rise.
“We really are challenged with cases increasing in this community in a rapid way and we don’t think it’s going to stop unless we really work on how we keep our circle small, how we keep away from each other in some physical distancing ways and how we make sure we use a cloth face covering to protect others, not just to protect ourselves,” Giese said.
