Nearly 500 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across were reported Wisconsin yesterday.
494 new cases in Wisconsin brings the state’s total just shy of 37,000. The state is also reporting zero new deaths due to the virus, that number stays at 820.
78 percent of cases in the state are considered recovered.
Eau Claire County is seeing its lower number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases in weeks. Two new cases on Monday brings the county to 340 total. 235 of the 340 total cases are considered recovered. Overall, more than 10,000 negative tests have also come back in the county.
“Our case numbers are obviously going up and down like we typically have happen, but our seven-day positivity rate has been around five percent. Last week our 14-day positivity rate was at 14.5 percent our highest in a long time so we certainly had a large number of positive cases in the week prior to this past week and now it’s level off a bit more again,” said Lieske Giese, Eau Claire City-County Health Department Director.
