“I struggle with it” La Crosse County health director talks upcoming La Crosse Loggers season

Coronavirus

La Crosse County reported 21 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

During a briefing on Wednesday, health director Jennifer Rombalski was asked about her concerns over the La Crosse Loggers starting its season later this week.

“We’ve tried to tell them what we would want to see them doing. They did some of those recommendations, not all,” said Rombalski. “I believe one of the things they’re doing, is they’re doing a 50% capacity, but that’s still a lot of people. I think there still is risk there. I’ve seen other communities like Eau Claire and their league not be in session. I struggle with it frankly. I think it brings risk.”

Due to the rising cases in the county, another National Guard testing site will be taking place on July 10 at Logan High School.
