Two more La Crosse police officers test positive for COVID-19

The La Crosse Police Department learned late last week that two more officers had tested positive for COVID-19 which brings the total to three officers who tested positive.

Police chief Shawn Kudron says the department is working with the health department to understand the best safety protocols moving forward.

Kudron says his officers will continue to address service calls from a distance when they can but many times policing in general, they are unable to do that.

“We are doing the best we can of keeping a distance, wearing masks that not only protect the officers but are protecting the public in general.  And doing the best we can as we move through our shifts and through our days to make sure that we are addressing the issue of COVID-19 and spread,” said Kudron.
