Vice President, Mike Pence was in the badger state Tuesday hoping to highlight the efforts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The vice president toured a GE Healthcare manufacturing facility in Madison, praising the company and its employees for stepping up production.
His office says the purpose of the visit was to highlight the production of ventilators at GE during the pandemic.
“Because of all of you, and because of those healthcare workers, and because of the steps that American people have taken, the sacrifice the American people have made — every American should be proud of the fact that no American who has needed a ventilator has been denied a ventilator during the coronavirus epidemic,” said Pence.
Former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden in a statement Tuesday accused Pence of using the state as a “backdrop to a political photo opportunity.”
