A local charity run is helping build a new nature center in Eau Claire. The R.C.U. Charity Classic is partnering with Beaver Creek Reserve to help connect the community with nature.
This morning nearly eight-hundred runners raced around downtown Eau Claire. Co-director of the race – Vicki Hoehn says the goal is to raise 25-thousand dollars to help build Beaver Creek Reserve a new nature center discovery room.
Hoehn: “What gives me the greatest pride is that every year we choose a charity. The funds we raise from it go directly to that charity to benefit any needs they have in the community.”
R.C.U. will also partner with Beaver Creek Reserve at next year’s charity run to raise another 25-thousand dollars. That way it can fulfill the total pledge amount of 50-thousand dollars needed to help finish the center’s project.
