Students in kindergarten through eighth grades got a chance to engage in more than 20 different projects and activities at the Eau Claire Sports Warehouse for the annual 4-H Discovery Day.
4-H is a national youth development organization that includes project-based learning.
Stations included arts and crafts, leadership training, and community service skills. Other stations provided kids a chance to learn about animals.
Eau Claire County currently has 17 4-H clubs.
“I enjoy watching the youth that have gone through the 4-H program and putting all their skills that they have learned to work here today,” said coordinator, Miranda Nelson.
Nelson said she enjoys the opportunities to lead the sessions and empower other youth.
Nelson said today’s event was a kickoff to national 4-H week, which runs from October 7-13.
