Average New Car Price Tops $45,000

Americans from coast to coast are dealing with extreme weather this week. Right now, a powerful autumn nor-easter is hitting the northeast and New England, bringing with it high wind and heavy rain. In the Midwest, people are cleaning up after tornadoes ripped through towns. Parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas could see severe weather, too. The West Coast…getting walloped as well…with snow in one part of California…and torrential rain in others.

The average new-car price now tops 45-thousand dollars…an all-time record high. That’s according to a new report from Kelley Blue Book and data from TrueCar. An analyst with TrueCar says in September we saw the average transaction price increase more than 7-percent from last year. New car inventory at dealerships is also reported to be thin right now. The analyst adds that even a modest increase in the availability of new cars…may lead to some price relief.

A New York woman is suing Kellogg over the fruit filling in its pop-tarts. A lawsuit claims the advertising on boxes for their strawberry pop-tarts is misleading… because the filling uses fewer strawberries than expected. She claims the pastry contains more pears and apples than strawberries. She’s asking for over five million dollars in damages.
