U.S. consumer confidence, surging this month to the highest reading in a year. The consumer confidence index, rising to 109.7. Experts say it’s helped by increased vaccinations and more government economic support. The present situations index, based on consumers’ assessment of current business and labor market conditions also rose last month. And the expectations’ index, based on consumers’ outlook for income, business, and labor market conditions also improved.
Is Volkswagen changing its name? The company accidental y posted a new release on its website on Monday…announcing a new name for its U.S. operations “Voltswagen of America”. It would emphasize the German automaker’s electric vehicle efforts. It said Voltswagen will be placed as an exterior badge on all E-V models with gas vehicles having the company’s iconic V-W emblem only.
And Google Maps will soon have a green option. It won’t necessarily default to get you to your destination the fastest way possible anymore. The company says instead the navigation algorithm will soon automatical y select the most fuel-efficient route. It will consider things like inclines and congestion to help you reduce your environmental impact. Google says it will only steer drivers to the greenest option when the estimated time of arrival is similar to other routes.
