President supports “Right to Repair”

It’s been debated for years, the right for tractor owners to repair the equipment they buy and now the plan is apparently getting the support of the President. Reuters reporting President Biden wants the F-T-C to limit the ability of farm equipment manufacturers to restrict tractor owners from using independent repair shops or completing some of the work themselves. Reuters also saying the President is planning an executive order on the issue in the next few days. Deere and Company saying 98-percent of the repairs customers want to do on John Deere products today, they can already do.

Tyson Foods, announcing a voluntary recall of 8.5 million pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products for possible listeria contamination. The recalled foods were sold at Walmart, Plublix, H-E-B and Wegmans. A full list of the recalled products is online on the U-S-D-A’s Food Safety and Inspection Service recall website.

If you are lactose intolerant, you may be interested in this. Russian scientists have apparently cloned a cow, editing the genes to remove the protein that causes lactose intolerance. The cow was reportedly cloned in April of last year. Their next step, impregnating a herd with embryos containing the edited genes to possibly create a generation of cattle that naturally produce lactose-free milk.
