On January 20th, the Biden Administration will be taking over. And we’ve learned at least three key agriculture-related cabinet members plan to remain on the job until then. USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue says he’s not leaving before his term ends. Speaking at an event last week in Georgia, he said he was saddened by the riot on Capitol Hill. He also said quote “I think inciting people to not have a peaceful transition of power was not the right thing to do and I’m disappointed in that.” endquote. But he says he still believes in the country and that quote “we’re going to go forward as America”. EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler and Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette have both signaled they would remain at their posts as well.
Jimmy Dean sausage is launching a new breakfast sandwich with soy-protein patties. Tyson Foods, the owner of the brand, says it marks the first time an alternative protein product has been featured in the brand’s 52-year history. Jimmy Dean Plant-Based Patty, Egg, and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches feature a soy-based patty consisting of soy protein and egg whites. They are now on sale at Sam’s Club.
Great news from Good Humor. The ice cream division of Unilever is reviving its Viennetta cake. That’s the classic version of an ice cream cake that has a wavy frozen vanilla base placed in between chocolate layers in a unique shape. It hasn’t been available in the U.S. for nearly three decades.
