Suez Canal traffic jam can be seen from space

Work is continuing to free a massive ship stuck in the Suez Canal. The ship, creating a maritime traffic jam, affecting more than 2-hundred vessels. The wait behind the ship so long, it can be seen from space, which you can see in the picture on the right. Dredgers are working frantically to try to free the giant container ship that is stuck sideways in the waterway. One expert saying freeing the ship could take up to a week in the best-case scenario.

How much of an economic impact does Agriculture have? The Biotechnology Innovation Organization crunching some numbers. Saying together, food and agriculture are responsible for roughly one-fifth of the country’s economic activity, directly supporting nearly 20-million jobs. That more than 13-percent of all U.S. employment. It says it begins with farms and ranches more than 2 million of them, covering two out of every five American acres. Then there are the millions of people working in more than 200-thousand food manufacturing, processing, and storage facilities.

The dairy industry is playing an important part in keeping people fed during the pandemic. The National Milk Producers Federation saying last year, farmers and dairy companies partnered with local food banks to deliver 469-mil ion pounds of dairy. That includes milk, cheese, and yogurt to families in need.
