Hormel Foods says it’s buying the Planters nut business. It’s buying it from Kraft Heinz for 3.35 billion dollars. Included in the deal are Planters brands like Nutrition, Cheez Balls, and Corn Nuts. Hormel is known for its meat brands like Spam and Applegate It said the acquisition significantly expands its presence in the growing snacking space.
Love cheese, check this out. Tillamook is offering what it calls “The mother Loaf” in a limited supply. It’s a forty-pound block of sharp yellow cheddar cheese. The cost, 112-dollars. The company says all of its cheddar products start as 40-pound blocks which are aged anywhere from two months to a decade.
Need a date for Valentine’s Day? How about going on a Zoom date with a cow? Stonyfield Organic of New Hampshire is offering a 15-minute “Date With a Cow” Valentine’s Day for people. The date can be purchased for 50-dollars. It includes a one-on-one virtual Zoom call with a real organic cow along with treats such as strawberry yogurt, milk chocolate, and a stuffed animal cow. And apparently, it’s a big hit! All of the zoom calls have already been reserved. However, if someone gets cold feet and backs out of their date, other folks on the waiting list just might end up with an udderly awesome Valentine’s Day experience. Proceeds are being donated.
