Prices for food around the world are continuing to climb. The food price index from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization climbed another 1.2 percent last month. It is now more than 27 percent higher than last year. This marks the fourth consecutive monthly rise in the index, pushing it to the highest level since June 2011. It says conflicts and drought are making food insecurity conditions worse in several parts of the world, especially East and West Africa. It reports 44 countries are in need of food help right now.

A developing story we’re following in Montana where high winds are whipping up fires, destroying property and buildings. Hundreds of people had to be evacuated as the flames moved in. It’s estimated that 25 structures were destroyed including grain elevators and bridges. Winds gusted up to 50 miles per hour and were expected to go as high as 70-miles per hour.

Reese fans there’s a new treat for you. Social media users reported seeing Reese’s new peanut butter cup with potato chips in stores. The treat was announced in October, but it was unknown when it would appear on shelves. You might remember last year Reese’s capitalized on the sweet and salty flavor when it introduced peanut butter cups with pretzels.
