Calls for resignation spark response from Wisconsin’s Chief Election Official

News

Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Wisconsin’s chief elections official speaks out amid state GOP officials calling for her resignation. The calls come after allegations of voter fraud at a Racine County nursing home.

Wolfe, who says she won’t step down, called the reports of fraud concerning. She adds it’s law enforcement’s job to investigate them.

As to calls for her resignation, Wolfe says it’s partisan politics.

“I think that it’s not productive, I think that it’s baseless and I think that it’s just partisan politics. I think it also misrepresents my role and the role of the commission.”

Wolfe also says while the commission oversees elections, they’re run by municipal clerks.
