Confluence Project Lawsuit

News

A lawsuit challenging the confluence project in Eau Claire could “imperil” the 10 billion-dollar Foxconn complex in Racine county and other parts of the state.

According to the state department of justice, the state wants to intervene in the lawsuit filed on behalf of ‘voters with facts,’ a group of Eau Claire taxpayers who say the city of Eau Claire abused Wisconsin’s tax incremental financing law that includes cash payments to a private developer or company.

The lawsuit is currently before the state supreme court.

The solicitor general says if the court were to side with the plaintiffs, it would imperil numerous projects critical to Wisconsin’s economic growth, including the recent agreement with Foxconn.
