Crews spent much of the morning Tuesday battling a fire at a popular restaurant on Lake Wissota.
Shortly before 6 a.m. fire crews responded to ‘The View’ on Highway X in Chippewa Falls.
Officials say upon arrival crews noticed heavy flames coming from the southeast side of the building in the basement area.
A total of 1.5 million gallons of water was used on the fire.
Most of the area surrounding the building was blocked off during the day as crews battled the flames.
The fire was called in by the owner’s dad, who was plowing the parking lot and noticed flames.
Officials said weather conditions made fighting the fire much more difficult.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials say it’s not being classified as suspicious.
