Just after 7 a.m. Thursday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office got a 911 call at Foothill Avenue in the Town of La Grange.
“Tomah Police Department arrived on scene first with the request of mutual aid, because it is in the county of Monroe. And they discovered a female, deceased, in the front yard,” said Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins.
Shortly after the discovery multiple agencies arrived in the town, located just outside of Tomah, to help with the scene and investigation.
“We did utilize, when you saw all the different agencies here that was our combined tactical unit. Monroe County has a four agency tactical unit. State Patrol, Sparta Police Department, Tomah Police Department and the sheriff’s office,” said Perkins.
During a preliminary investigation, law enforcement officers went in a home on Foothill Avenue, where the body of an adult man was found.
“At this point in time I do not believe that we have any persons of interest. We believe it’s an isolated incident and there is no harm to the public,” said Perkins.
While authorities were initially looking for a suspect in the woman’s death, Perkins says authorities believe that suspect is the man found dead in the home.
The case remains under investigation and the names of the victims have not yet been released.
