Multiple threats of school violence in Eau Claire have left four suspects in custody.
The Eau Claire police department investigated four separate threats of violence towards the Eau Claire area school district.

“There does seem to be a lot of these happening.”
Now Eau Claire is among the growing number of districts facing threats to its safety…
“The messages were violent in nature. They referenced to some shootings that would occur at the school, hurting other students.”
Over the course of 15 hours the police department received tips from Eau Claire school district students about threats posted on an anonymous social media platform called Brighten.
It’s supposedly anonymous website however people have to register their phone number which linked us to the particular persons that we were in search for.
In all, four threats were uncovered. One suspect was taken into custody last night. Three others today.
“The connection of these kids I’m not fully aware of just yet but obviously it’s suspicious enough to say that they’re probably involved with each other.”
Despite the threats, the district remained open
“We’ve been in constant contact with the Eau Claire school district. They made a decision not to close down the school which I think was a good decision.”
North high school Principal David Vale sent out an email to staff confirming some of the threats were towards school.
Parents of North High students are expressing concern for their children’s safety.
“You never know what’s going to happens you just drop off your kids to school and you think they’re going to be safe.”
“There’s was always safety issues top most in my mind.”
Eau Claire police says it will look further into who had knowledge of these threats. And hold all involved accountable
“We take every single threat as it’s credible until it’s proven otherwise and with the dynamics that re going around our nation today we’re not going to take any chance whatsoever with any threat.”

As for the reason behind the threats. Eau Claire police say that has not been determined but did say it doesn’t believe the suspects realized the magnitude of their actions.
The report will be forwarded to juvenile intake and determine whether or not charges will be filed.
