Festival Foods Plan To Take Over Some Gordy’s Locations Delayed

Festival Foods says the plan to take over and re-open three Gordy’s Market stores is delayed until later this year. Festival Foods says it now plans to re-open the Gordy’s stores on Birch Street and North Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire on December 1st.
The store on East Clifton Street in Tomah is scheduled to open November 10. The release says the plans stalled last month. That’s when we learned Minnesota supplier Nash Finch is suing Gordy’s, claiming Gordy’s owes 86 million dollars. The lawsuit called for Gordy’s to appoint a receiver. Gordy’s announced it appointed a Milwaukee attorney to that role.
Festival says it is re-starting the process of hiring workers for those stores today.
