Florida Shooting Funerals Begin

News

The first funeral services are being held for victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida today.

Florida governor Rick Scott says the head of the FBI needs to resign. The FBI revealed that they were warned back in January that 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz had guns, was exhibiting erratic behavior, and had mentioned wanting to attack Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The agency says proper protocol was not followed and Cruz was never investigated. Just over a month later Cruz returned to his former school and opened fire on students and teachers, killing seventeen.

The Parkland shooting is the latest in a string of deadly attacks on America’s schools. Many in Washington are now calling on congress to act and address the issue of gun violence in America.
