A day of football and fundraising as a local group held a Packers watch party while raising money to help families in need this holiday season. The Eagles Club in Lake Hallie hosted an auction benefiting the local organization Jason’s Presents.

Sunday football at the Lake Hallie Eagles Club wasn’t just about the game. The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department hosted a watch party all while raising money for Jason’s Presents.
“We’re here just to raise money so we can have more funds for the Chippewa County less fortunate families during Christmas time where we can purchase them gifts and have a party for them.”
In 2008, deputy Jason Zunker was killed in the line of duty while redirecting traffic at the scene of a semi-trailer fire. The fundraiser is named in his honor.
“Jason was trying to get the shop with a cop back on its feet prior to his death and where we decided to get involved and name it after him.”
Jason’s Presents have been raising money for families for nearly a decade. The past three years, the organization has held an auction where they raffle off prizes and more than 100 baskets.
“The community is very good to Jason’s Presents. They give a lot of donated items.”
Community members sharing today the impact Jason’s Presents has on them.
“This is my third year coming to this and it’s just nice to see all the different people that really enjoy helping out.”
“It’s huge for the community. it is. It’s a great cause.”
“It’s growing in quite a bit of ways.”
“When you say Jason’s Presents now people know what it’s about so that’s what is so great about it. It’s about remembering Jason but yet its people helping out in the community.”
Last year the organization raised more than $15,000.
