Governor Walker Asks SBA To Assess Flood Damage

News

Back here in Wisconsin, Governor Walker is asking the US Small Business Administration to assess flood damage in La Crosse and Trempealeau counties from July.

Walker’s office says the information could be used for federal low-interest loans to help homeowners, renters and businesses with damage.

County damage assessments show 37 homes and businesses in La Crosse County were destroyed or sustained major damage and nearly 270 reported minor damage.

In Trempealeau County, 19 homes and businesses were destroyed or had major damage.

In August, the governor requested a federal disaster declaration for 11 western Wisconsin counties.
