Earlier today President Trump signed the bill known as HR 601. HR 601 provides an additional fifteen-and-a-quarter billion dollars in emergency funding for disaster relief.
It also extends the authorization of the national flood insurance program through December eighth. The authorization had been scheduled to expire on September 30th.
The action was taken as residents of Texas and Louisiana continue their effort to rebuild their lives following hurricane Harvey, and hurricane Irma bears down on Florida.
