10-digit dialing for phone calls coming to all of Wisconsin October 24

Local News

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – If you have a 608-area code, you’re going to need to start dialing 1 before each phone call.

The FCCA wants everyone to start using all ten digits when dialing someone, even when making local calls.

The agency says seven-digits numbers will still connect for a few more months while people get used to the changeover.

After October 24, however, seven-digit calls may not work.
