Today members of the La Crosse police department joined community members for the 24th annual state bank financial chili cook off! The cook off was held at riverside park.
Besides chili tasting there was also a chili pepper eating contest. According to the La Crosse police department, the chili cook off has provided more than 200- thousand dollars to the area D.A.R.E. And G.R.E.A.T. Programs during the last 24 years. Those programs aim to keep kids off drugs and out of gangs.
Proceeds from this year’s event will also benefit La Crosse area D.A.R.E. And G.R.E.A.T. Programs as well as the La Crosse public education foundation.
