BARRON COUNTY Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A 27-year-old man is arrested after a three-hour standoff with police officers last night in Cumberland in Barron County. The police department says it got a call just before 7 pm for an intoxicated man at a home in Cumberland.
Officers say the caller was concerned about the man’s mental health. At the scene, officers say Devin Baldwin went into the house, began breaking windows, armed himself with a knife, and started making threats to officers on the scene.
With the help of the Barron and Rusk County emergency response team. Baldwin was eventually taken into custody after three hours. Multiple charges are being recommended, including disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Baldwin is currently on probation for a similar incident in 2020.
