33-year-old West Salem woman dies after Onalaska crash

ONALASKA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Onalaska Police Department has confirmed that a 33-year-old West Salem woman died due to injuries she sustained in a car crash.

The department says the crash happened on State Highway 16 at Pierce Road nearly two weeks ago. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two severely damaged vehicles.

Police say Samantha Moore was trapped in a van on the shoulder of the westbound lane and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

She was taken to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. The crash is still under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
