CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A Chippewa Falls man has been charged with three counts after authorities say he attempted to abduct two women last week in the Chippewa Valley.
35-year-old Cory Gudmanson of Chippewa Falls is charged with false imprisonment and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, both felonies and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Gudmanson appeared by video from the jail in Chippewa County Court Tuesday afternoon.
The criminal complaint says on Friday Gudmanson followed a woman from traffic light to a business and as he started opening her car door, she was able to shut it and started screaming.
In another attempt, Gudmanson is accused of following a woman into her driveway and grabbing her arm as she left the vehicle. She was able to kick Gudmanson in the chest to knock him away and then got back in her vehicle and locked the doors.
The complaint says as Gudmanson fled, the woman’s father was hit by the vehicle but was able to open the rear door of Gudmanson’s vehicle to remove a temporary license plate.
