EAU CLAIRE, Wis (WLAX/WEUX) – It may be Halloween, but it’s also, time to remember what goes into effect at midnight in Eau Claire. Alternate side parking! And that it happens whether there’s snow on the ground or not.
Cars must be parked on one side of the street from midnight to 7 a.m. Based on which day it is. On odd days, community members are supposed to park their cars on the side of the street where the address ends with an odd number and vice versa.
Alternate side parking runs until May 1st.
(In La Crosse, alternate side parking only takes place when the city declares a snow emergency. Normally, that would mean that 3 inches of snow has or will fall, or when conditions dictate that an emergency is necessary.)
