ALTOONA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Altoona high school has not one – but seven – valedictorians graduating this year. All seven students were able to get the job done, despite learning in a pandemic.
Which meant going from virtual learning and then transitioning back to in-person classes.
Assistant Principal Chad Hanson credits his students for their commitment and the teachers who helped them stay focused.
“It’s great for them, i mean it shows their commitment to learning and to the educational process. Also the commitment of our staff to be able to help them on the way to ensure that they’re getting everything that they need in order to continue learning,” said Hanson.
The valedictorians will be saluted during an in-person graduation ceremony planned for May 28.
Hanson says the district will follow health guidelines for the event.
