ALTOONA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – An Altoona man is convicted of multiple child sex crimes in Monroe County. The Monroe County District Attorney says, after a three-day trial, a jury convicted 44-year-old Eric Wirth of eight charges including Repeated Sexual Assault of the same child. Several other counts against Wirth were dismissed without prejudice, meaning they can be refiled in another jurisdiction. New information was uncovered that the proper venue for the dismissed counts was outside Monroe County.

A sentencing hearing Is scheduled for January 5th.
