Two people were sent to the hospital after a multiple vehicle crash happened in Barron County on Saturday. Others were evaluated by medical personal on the scene.
The crash happened Nov. 23 at 6:07 p.m. at the intersection of Highway SS and Highway B, north of Rice Lake.
Barron County Sheriff’s Department says Brent Burns of Rice Lake was driving east on Highway B when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a vehicle being driven by Dillen Metheny of Springbrook. The crash sent both cars into a parking lot, where five more cars were hit. Burns and Metheny were taken to different hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say Justin Metheny was a passenger of Dillen’s car and had to be extracted and flown to a Duluth hospital with serious injuries.
Medical personal treated four people who were in the parking lot where the crash occurred; none of them required medical attention. One person in the building had a minor injury after debris hit them when the vehicle struck the building.
