The Wisconsin state assembly has passed a resolution honoring hall of fame Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr. The 81-year-old Starr, the most valuable player in the first Super Bowl was not able to be present Tuesday for the honor due to illness. State representative Warren Petryk wore a Starr jersey as he read a letter from Starr’s wife thanking them for the honor. Saying his heart still lives in Wisconsin. Starr is working to become strong enough to travel to Lambeau Field on thanksgiving night when Brett Favre’s number will be retired.
