CHIPPEWA VALLEY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – While strawberry season had a late start across the badger state it’s time to make room for the little guys.

Early July typically kicks off the start of blueberry and raspberry season, Little Berry Farm is ready to welcome community members beginning today.

Located just outside of Eau Claire, the farm has two varieties of raspberries and five different types of blueberries.

U-Pick raspberries are ready for the picking today. The owner says blueberries are looking good, but still need a week or so before they’re ready.

Gaye Engen, Little Berry Farm owner said, “People are calling and asking do you have raspberries, do you have strawberries, so we didn’t have as much strawberries this year but hopefully we’ll have some good raspberries.”

Engen says berry fields can change overnight so it’s always best to call ahead of your visit or to check the farms website for updates.
