BUFFALO COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – One western Wisconsin county is trying something new in hopes of getting more people vaccinated.
The Buffalo County Department of Health and Human Services is reaching out to local businesses and other organizations, seeing if they’re interested in hosting a clinic, making it more convenient for people.
Department staff are also trying to get into those organizations and talk to people about vaccines.
Dave Rynders, Buffalo County Health and Human Services Director said, “It’s really about listening. If somebody’s talking with us and just raising concerns, then those concerns could be, you know, quite varied.”
Rynders says it’ll be a conversation, not a presentation trying to pressure or intimidate someone into getting vaccinated. Right now, only about 40 percent of eligible Buffalo County residents have gotten at least one shot.
