TREMPEALEAU Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Two people are taken to the hospital and several children suffer minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus yesterday morning. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 7:15 am on Highway 53 near the intersection of Nelson Road, south of Osseo.
Deputies say the bus was slowing down to make a left turn when an SUV rear-ended the bus. Five of the 14 children on the school bus were treated for minor injuries. Both people in the SUV were taken to local hospitals for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies are investigating the driver of the car for potential impairment and reckless driving.
