Caring for a loved one? Here’s some advice from a professional

Local News

Wisc. (WLAX/WEUX) – November is national family caregivers month. If you’re caring for a loved one, health care workers say it’s important to focus on your own health as well. They say, while every situation is different, it’s important family caregivers make time for themselves. That means caring for their own physical and mental well-being.

Charlotte Sloan of St. Joseph’s Hospital said, “Sleep, you need to get good sleep. You need to have a healthy body and so nutrition is very important. Accept support and seek out the support of your friends, family.”

Most places, including Eau Claire County, have an aging and disability resource center, which can provide help finding skilled nursing, transportation, and other resources.
