The dairy industry is vital to the economy of Wisconsin. According to the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin there are more than 7,000 licensed herds in the state.
VES in Chippewa Falls has spent the last 11 years developing state-of-the-art equipment to help monitor these dairy cows. They use fans with sensors to help maintain a healthy environment for cows to live in.
They sell these systems in more than 40 countries around the world, and are now building a new research facility to help keep up with the industry.
“Stage 1 will consist of corporate offices, warehousing/manufacturing capabilities,” said VES founder, John McBride. “But most of all it will contain a 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art research facility that will be showcasing the VES animal-centered environment.”
Company founders also say their new technology will help bring the dairy industry to Chippewa Falls. They say the new expansion will create upwards of 40 new jobs in the Chippewa Valley.
