Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Current cold weather conditions could be causing issues with your lungs. Doctors at Mayo Clinic say the cold, dry air hitting much of the US could be causing a condition called “bronchospasms”, a tightening of the chest or a sensation like shortness of breath.

People who suffer from chronic lung conditions like COPD could feel those symptoms worsening in extreme cold. Doctors say people should avoid going outside in those situations if possible and having extra inhalers could also be helpful.
