Eau Claire, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX)-Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been shortages on PPE such as face masks. But a new company in Eau Claire is helping to solve that shortage after beginning to manufacture surgical masks back in May.

Wisconsin medical supplies says they are currently making over one million masks a month.and soon look to double that.

Owner Andrew Holland said the importance of being able to produce masks in the United States will help stop shortages across the country.

“We as a nation need to be having a conversation about where are we getting our stuff from. we ran into this crisis because we didn’t produce this stuff in the United States.” Said Holland.

Wisconsin Medical Supplies is also partnering with local businesses to sell boxes of masks in their stores.
