On Thursday the tornado that hit Clark County on Tuesday was confirmed as an EF-1.
The tornado stretched nearly five miles through Greenwood and Loyal.
The National Weather Service says winds peaked around 88 MPH in that tornado.
No community members were hurt or killed. Three cows died in the storm.
Todd Shea, the meteorologist who assessed the area says they rely on people and municipalities reporting damage to them as it helps them figure out what happened and where to start.
“Well when we hear about damage, we’ll get that from usually emergency management or local officials and we’ll also compare with what we saw on radar and try to map out where we’re going to go look at that damage to try to make a determination if it’s wind damage or tornado or maybe a combination of those things,” said Shea.
Shea spent Thursday morning taking pictures and mapping out the path, the length, width, and strength determining this was a tornado.
