LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Cases of COVID-19 continue to steadily trend downward in the state.
On Sunday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported a little over 11-hundred new cases of the virus. The state says one in 6 people who were tested in the last 24 hours, tested positive. The total in the state since the pandemic began sits at nearly 533-thousand.
Of those cases, 94 percent are considered recovered with nearly 29-thousand cases in the state still active. DHS is reporting six more people have died from the virus, the death toll in the state is nearing 57-hundred. In today’s report, 67 more people are hospitalized, and nearly 306-thousand vaccines have been administered so far.
In western Wisconsin, Eau Claire County reports 39 new cases, bringing its total to 10-thousand-350.
Chippewa County adds 24 cases for a total of 67-hundred in the county.
Dunn County tacks on 14 bringing the total in the county to nearly 4-thousand and La Crosse County adds 20 cases, bringing the total in the county to almost 11-thousand-300.
