LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – COVID-19 deaths in Wisconsin reach a 10-day high.
The state reports 54 more deaths to bring the total number to 5,753. That is the most deaths added in one day since the single-day record of 128 on January 16.
Another 135 Wisconsinites are in the hospital with the coronavirus. 13- hundred more positive tests are also logged today. Wisconsin’s 7-day positivity average is at 20.1 percent.
Locally, 19 more COVID-19 cases are recorded in Eau Claire County.
Chippewa County adds 17 positive test results, along with one new death.
La Crosse County tacks on 35 new cases.
Dunn County shows no new cases for the first time in more than three weeks.
Barron County sees 7 new COVID-19 cases and one new fatality as well.
Educators, grocery store employees, and prisoners will be some of the next individuals who will be allowed to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
That’s according to the latest information from the department of health services. Today, the agency released its latest eligibility list, however, it noted the members of these groups will likely not be able to get vaccinated before March.
