LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – More COVID-19 fatalities are announced by health departments in western Wisconsin.
Dunn County announces its first death related to the virus. The health department only describes the person who died as being elderly. Dunn County adds 19 cases to its overall total of positive tests.
La Crosse County’s COVID-19 dashboard shows a fifth death today, with state DHS showing 35 more cases of the virus.
Eau Claire County hits the two thousand mark of positive tests today, with 31 more cases logged.
Chippewa County moves up 10 to 584 positive tests. In the last week, Chippewa County has seen an increase of 102 cases of COVID-19.
Wisconsin set another high today in the COVID-19 pandemic while offering a warning the statistics could become more severe.
The state department of health services logs 27 new fatalities. The previous highest number of deaths due to COVID-19 was May 27, with 22 deaths.
Positive test results are also up, with slightly more than 23- hundred new cases.
